President Tinubu to swear in new ministers on Monday

  President Bola Tinubu will on Monday, August 21, swear in the new ministers who have just been assigned portfolios.   In a statement released by t he office of the secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), it was revealed that the ceremony will take place in the conference room of the State House at 10 am. The ministers are to come with two guests each.   A list released of the portfolios assigned to the new ministers, showed the north-west has 10 ministers, while north-east has six. The north-central and south-west have eight and nine ministers respectively, while south-east and south-south have five each.

Two Nigerians charged with defrauding Kenyan businessman of Ksh60M (N326m)

          Two Nigerians have been arraigned before a Kenyan court for  defrauding a businessman of Ksh60.4 million in a shoddy deal.   The suspects who were identified as Ali Ojo and Victor Nyekazi Wagwu, were arraigned before Milimani Magistrate Ben Mark Enhubi on charges of cheating and being in the country unlawfully.    They committed the offence between January 20 and May 19, 2023, in Nairobi county jointly with others who are yet to be arrested. They reportedly defrauded one Noor Omar Ahmed of USD 420,000 through fraudulent tricks.   The money was for the purchase of a reagent to clear stamps on the foreign currency funds that Ahmed was to receive as a consideration for the sale of the Lisbon Hotel.   The court claimed that Lisbon Hotel is a family property that the two Nigerians claimed they wanted to buy.  Ojo and Wagwu were arrested at Rubis Petrol station near Bellevue Estate in Nairobi County without valid passports ...

  A CCTV footage is trending online as it captured the exact moment a small plane crashed at Oba Akran in the Ikeja area of Lagos state, today, August 1.    The plane went up in flames immediately after it crashed.    It's been reported earlier that two persons  believed to be the pilots were rescued, but it is not clear how many persons were on board the ill-fated aircraft.
